Planning a destination wedding can be an exciting yet daunting task, but for Abby and Coleman, their experience with Del Cabo Weddings turned out to be a dream come true. From their charming first encounter to the breathtaking proposal, and finally, the grand celebration in Los Cabos, their journey was filled with love, surprises, and unforgettable moments.
Abby, hailing from a small town in Kansas, and Coleman, a proud native of Albany, GA, met at work. Little did they know that this would evolve into a deep friendship and ultimately blossom into love. Sharing common interests such as watching Ted Lasso, cooking, traveling, and cheering on their favorite football team, the Georgia Dawgs, Abby, and Coleman discovered a beautiful harmony between them.
Coleman’s proposal to Abby was nothing short of thoughtful and heartwarming. After secretly flying to Kansas to seek her father’s blessing, he orchestrated a surprise-filled day. Under the guise of hosting a Friendsgiving gathering, Abby’s best friend arrived, presenting her with a selection of white dresses and a note from Coleman. Following the instructions, Abby prepared herself, only to be greeted by Coleman in front of the historic Swan House, where he asked her to be his forever. The presence of their parents and the arrival of Abby’s grandmother made the day even more magical.
Having attended numerous weddings before their engagement, Abby and Coleman knew exactly what they wanted for their own special day. They envisioned a destination wedding, surrounded by their loved ones, in a place that offered breathtaking scenery, direct flights, great weather, and delectable cuisine. Their hearts were captivated by the beauty of Los Cabos, with its rugged landscapes, desert charm, and ocean views. Entranced by what they saw on social media, they booked The Cape for their venue sight unseen.
Abby and Coleman wanted their wedding to be an immersive experience, a fusion of Alice-in-Wonderland whimsy and rooftop chic. They sought to surprise their guests with hidden treasures and create a truly unforgettable celebration.
Abby’s dress, designed by Nardos, set the tone for the entire event, with its vibrant floral design becoming the centerpiece of the color story. Sheffield House Creative beautifully incorporated the floral motif into the invitations, menus, and personalized notes for each guest. The talented Yamile from Ariavera Floral brought their vision to life, creating a ceremony setting that made the flowers appear to grow naturally from the ground. The choice of bougainvillea perfectly showcased the region’s beauty and complemented the couple’s chosen color palette.
When it came to choosing a wedding planner, Abby and Coleman knew they needed someone who understood their vision and could bring their dreams to life. Del Cabo Weddings, under the guidance of planner Lee De Lange, proved to be the perfect fit. From the initial planning stages to the execution of their vision, the couple felt supported and understood. Lee’s patience, dedication, and warm energy created a comfortable environment, making the entire process seamless. Attending tastings, coordinating with vendors, and providing invaluable guidance, Lee made sure Abby and Coleman’s wedding day was nothing short of perfection.
As a couple, Abby and Coleman cherished several highlights from their wedding day. Opting against a first look allowed them to savor a truly special moment during the ceremony. The decision to invite their photographer, Taryn Baxter, to the rehearsal dinner added an extra layer of joy. Coleman’s heartfelt handwritten letters to the bridal party touched everyone’s hearts, and the mini-moon immediately after the wedding allowed them to unwind and relish the magic of Los Cabos.
This truly is a love story to remember!
